Kwara State FA Takes Center Stage: Saka Morrow Applauds Senator Sadiq Umar's Gesture as Akerebiata Football Field Upgrading Commences
In a remarkable display of support for grassroots football development, the Kwara State Football Association has hailed Senator Sadiq Umar, representing Kwara North, for initiating the upgrading of the Akerebiata Government Day Secondary School football field.
The field, which has been in a deplorable state since 1989, has produced numerous talented players who have gone on to excel in European and Nigerian leagues.
The Coordinator of the field, Akano Adisa Saka popularly known as Saka Bola Morrow, a seasoned football administrator with decades of experience, expressed his gratitude to Senator Umar for his benevolent gesture. Morrow praised the Kwara State Football Association's leadership, particularly Chairman, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa Turaya, for their tireless efforts in promoting grassroots football development in the state.
The upgrading project, which includes the installation of a scoreboard, new goalposts with nets, and other necessary facilities, is a testament to Senator Umar's commitment to nurturing young talent in the state.
Morrow commended the senator for his selflessness, noting that his gesture transcends local government boundaries.
"I see this as a new dawn for the Akerebiata football field, which will not only encourage more youth to participate in football but also promote the discovery of new stars within the society," Morrow said. "This initiative will also help reduce crime rates within the community."
Morrow urged the Ilorin East Local Government Chairman, Lukman Olayinka Garba (Agbelere), and other politicians within the local government to emulate Senator Umar's example and invest in the development of football infrastructure in the area.
