The Kwara State Football Association Chairman, Mallam Musa Idris Abdullahi Turaya (Badex), has commended the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their impressive performance in the ongoing AFCON tournament in Morocco. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sports Connect WhatsApp platform, Mallam Idris expressed his confidence in the team's ability to win the coveted trophy.

"We believe in the Super Eagles, and I'm convinced they have all it takes to emerge victorious," he said. "The unity among the players is palpable, and I urge Nigerians not to believe the fake news circulating about the team's internal issues. The leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Nigeria Sports Commission (NSC) deserves commendation for their unwavering support and motivation."
Mallam Idris also praised the Kwara State Governor, Abdulraham Abdulrasaq, for transforming the state's stadium into a world-class facility and rebranding the indoor sports hall to international standards. He appealed to the Federal Government, State Governments, and sports stakeholders to emulate the governor's example and invest in sports infrastructure.

"We need to change the narrative and prioritize sports development in Nigeria," he emphasized. "With the support of Governor Abdulraham Abdulrasaq, we have achieved great things in Kwara State, including winning the FA Cup and participating in continental competitions. I'm confident that with the ongoing rehabilitation and upgrade of Offa and Lafigi stadiums, Kwara will regain its lost glory in sports."

Mallam Idris also commended the House of Assembly members from Kwara State who are currently in Morocco to witness the AFCON tournament. "I want to thank the NFF for the VIP treatment they have accorded the House of Assembly members from Kwara State who are here in Morocco," he said. "They are here to see firsthand the level of sports infrastructure and development in Morocco, and I'm sure they will return to Kwara State with valuable insights and recommendations to share with Governor Abdulraham Abdulrasaq."

According to Mallam Idris, the House of Assembly members have been impressed by the state-of-the-art stadiums and facilities in Morocco, and they plan to recommend to the governor that similar infrastructure be built in Kwara State to boost sports development.

"The House of Assembly members are here to learn and see how we can replicate what they are seeing here in Morocco," he said. "They will definitely make recommendations to the governor to invest in sports infrastructure, and I'm confident that with the governor's support, Kwara State will become a hub for sports development in Nigeria."

Mallam Idris also reacted to allegations circulating on some sports platforms in Kwara State regarding his leadership of the Kwara FA, describing them as baseless and laughable.

"I don't think it's necessary for me to dignify such allegations with a response," he said. "The writer is not bold enough to put their name to the story, and it's clear they know nothing about football. My work as FA Chairman speaks for itself. We've achieved great things in Kwara State, and we're committed to supporting our teams to succeed. I won't be distracted by malicious allegations."

The Kwara FA Chairman commended the large turnout of Nigerians in Morocco, saying their support has been massive and motivating for the team. He predicted a 2-1 win for the Super Eagles over Algeria and urged Nigerians to continue supporting the team.

"With the support of Nigerians and the team's determination, I believe all is possible for the Super Eagles to win the AFCON," he said. "It's time for Nigeria to make history and bring glory to the nation."

The Kwara FA Chairman thanked everyone on Sports Connect for their questions and assured them that he would be available for future interactions. With his leadership and vision, Kwara State is poised to become a hub for sports development in Nigeria.
