Remo Stars Technical Adviser, Coach Usman Abd’Allah, has said his side is fully prepared to secure maximum points in their crucial NPFL Matchday 37 fixture against Bayelsa United at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.

Speaking to journalists ahead of the home clash, Abd’Allah described the match as pivotal to Remo Stars’ bid to retain their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) status for the 2025/2026 season.
The Sky Blue Stars are currently battling to avoid relegation. However, Abd’Allah believes the team’s readiness, the backing of the club’s management, and the dedication of the players have created the right environment to secure survival.

“The team is well prepared and fully motivated. The technical crew is eager to see the team succeed,” he said. “This is a defining match that will determine our fate in the league. We are not under any pressure; we will approach it like every other game, with the sole aim of securing all three points.”
Abd’Allah, who took charge team late February 2006 during the club’s relegation battle, has been credited with stabilizing the squad and improving results within a short period. He also praised the strong working relationship between the technical bench and the management, describing it as a key factor behind the team’s recent progress.

He commended the club’s management for being the pillar of the team’s resilience. “Despite being NPFL champions last season, we are more determined than ever to give our best and sustain our place in the league,” he added.
On the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 4 championship also being hosted at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Abd’Allah congratulated the NNL management for organizing a well-structured tournament that has elevated the competition to world-class standards compared to previous editions.
The coach further acknowledged the presence of Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle at the opening match, saying it would inspire players to showcase their talent on a bigger stage. “Nigeria is blessed with a wealth of young talent, including several players in our academy who are waiting for an opportunity. I commend the Super Eagles coach for scouting NPFL and NNL players for the national team,” Abd’Allah said.
He urged Nigerian coaches to embrace modern coaching methods and continuous professional development to meet global standards. “Football has evolved beyond traditional approaches. Coaches must be willing to upgrade their knowledge consistently.”

On the broader significance of the Super 4, Abd’Allah noted that it offers promoted teams a valuable opportunity to test their squads ahead of the NPFL season. “It’s a platform to assess which players are ready to compete at the highest level and to refine their style of play.”
Concluding, he said the quality of football on display at the Super 4 confirms that Nigeria has abundant potential waiting to be harnessed. “If given the right opportunity, these players are more than capable of excelling.”
