LA-PLANET SPORTING DIRECTOR SALUTES KWARA REFEREES, VOWS NNL PLAYOFF REDEMPTION AS LA-PLANET ARE CROWNED CHAMPIONS

LA-Planet Football Academy Sporting Director, Mallam Mallick Olasunkanmi, was a bundle of joy as his boys were crowned NLO Champions from the Kwara Centre.
Despite conceding a two-goal equaliser to Abraysports FC after losing focus, the team showed brilliance and character to survive a tense penalty shootout.
“As a football administrator, I understand what went wrong. But I appreciate the boys more for doubling their efforts and not disappointing my trust. They refused to let that setback kill their determination to win the match and emerge champions from the Ilorin Centre,” Olasunkanmi said.
The Sporting Director admitted he was calm during the shootout. “In fairness, I was not too worried during the penalty shootout. I had so much belief in my boys and I knew they would deliver the moment for the team, which eventually came to pass.”
Olasunkanmi also commended the Kwara State Referees Council. “I will not be fair if I refuse to give the Kwara State Referees Council their kudos. They have done well this season by changing the narrative of officiating in Kwara State. Their performance exceeded our expectations, and they deserve commendation all through the league. Today’s match also tells the story of their excellent performance.”

He congratulated all teams that participated this year, describing the league as highly competitive. “There was no team to write off. I see the two teams that played in the final as the teams of the moment because we watched good football.”
Looking ahead to the NLO Playoff for an NNL slot, Olasunkanmi vowed LA-Planet would raise their standards. “For the playoff, we are going to do what is necessary to change the narrative, especially by learning from the experiences of other teams who played in the playoff, to build our team stronger for the job.”

The LA-Planet boss thanked everyone who contributed to the success, from players to technical crew and management. He also applauded the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, and the FA Chairman, Mallam Musa Idris Abdullahi Thuraya, for his passion for the game.

“I saw him in attendance at the final with his entourage, alongside ABS FC Sporting Director, High Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, SWAN, the Referees Council, Kwara United Fans Club, supporters, and other stakeholders. Thank you for believing in grassroots football development. We promise not to disappoint your trust.
